High-speed checkpointing for high availability

We describe enhancements to Xen to allow it to take very lightweight
checkpoints. We demonstrate how this facility may be used to create an
up-to-the-second backup image of a running virtual machine on another
physical host, which can seamlessly take over for the primary in the
event of hardware failure.
